I'm renting a shop now. Which account should I use for the monthly rent payment and which one for the security deposit?

Dear Inge,

I forgot to answer your question about the security deposit ledger account. I apologize for that.

Unfortunately, eAccounting does not contain a ledger account which I think is suitable. Therefore you can create a new ledger. Please contact your accountant for more information about how the ledgers account should be created(accounting wise).

Dear Inge,

For the registration of rent, you can use the pre-programmed ledger account:  4300 Huur ontroerend goed (rental real estate).  If you prefer you can also change the name of the ledger account by going to the charts of accounts (via left menu settings). Then select the ledger account and press edit after which you can make changes to the ledger account.
