GET http://employeeapi.employeecore.hrm.visma.net/v1/employees, timeouts

We currently have an integration with EmployeeAPI to retrieve employees, more specifically we use the endpoint:

GET http://employeeapi.employeecore.hrm.visma.net/v1/employees

We notice that this is very slow at the moment (up to 1 minute), and that we get timeouts quite often. This happens both in our demo and production environment.

Want to check if there is something special happening at the moment that is causing it to go so slowly, or if this is to be expected.

A follow-up question here: We call this endpoint without any parameters and then retrieve all employees.
In the response, it looks as if there are around 700 employees being brought in, and that is not a frightening number.

Is this expected to take up to 1 minute to retrieve?
Are there any tricks we can do to make this call faster? We have tried a bit with the "page-size" query parameter (according to the documentation), but can't see any difference in the response.
Do you have any tips here?
